The Ageless Woman

Dr Nancy Lonsdorf's teleconference last night
was very informative. I took notes.
I ordered her book, "The Ageless Woman:
Natural Health and Beauty After Forty"

Yesterday while shopping with a girlfriend I found this little lotus candle holder.
I decided I needed a blessing candle for me.
I lit my candle this morning and set my intention for today,
"I am healthy and filled with vitality."

I turned the kettle on and boiled my water for five minutes.
Dr. Nancy suggested we boil our water for five minutes to remove impurities and give a lightness to our water. I use filtered water but I still boiled for five minutes.
This is new information for me.

Sipping warm water during the day not only helps with digestion but also with weight loss. Warm or hot water is known as "silver tea". It is very comforting and delicious!
Dr. Nancy told of a lady that worked in her office that lost 99 pounds in three years.
She started her weight loss with sipping warm water throughout the day.
The warm water took away the craving for sugar.
I keep my hot water in my 64 oz. stainless steel carafe.
A stainless steel thermos would be nice to take with me when I leave on errands.
I have one in my road trip things.
I could refill my stainless steel travel mug as I go about my day away from home.
I will get it out and cleaned up so it is ready to go!
It will be so nice to have my water with me.

I will drink two carafes of water before I go to bed tonight,
45 oz of this water will be used for my echinacea tea.
I am building up my immune system.
I also will drink a pitcher of lemon water today.

I am flushing ama, toxins.
I am gaining vitality.

I am feeling better.

I check my water intake twice a month just to make sure I am getting enough.
Are you too getting plenty of water?

Thanks to you Sherry I am. I have always had six or seven glasses a day but I don't think that is enough for me. I have increased my intake. I will now try boiled water as you suggest.
You are sounding more vital and uplifted, I hope things get better and better.

Dear Cheryl,
I am so glad to know you are watching and making sure you get plenty of water. I always think I am doing okay. I started checking twice a month just because it is easy to forget or get involved with this and that and drinking water sort of slips. I find if I fill my water pitcher and my carafe each morning I make sure I drink it all by bedtime. With my added medicine teas I need another carafe of hot water around noon. Lots of water!
Let me know what you think of the hot sipping water. I am really enjoying it.
I am feeling much better. I have more energy than I have had in months.
Thank you for sharing this way with me. It is fun to do these new ways with a friend.
Namaste,
Sherry

what an excellent reminder .. taking enough water is the one thing I am guaranteed to let slide.

I just bought a nice organic lemon today to start having my hot water and lemon first thing in the morning again .. and then I found this post, brilliant!

When I was recovering from the worst stage of ME I found healing affirmations extremely useful and effective. I wrote them on the back of a postcard with a peaceful scene on it and kept it in my pocket. Very powerful medicine for the mind!

I love to read this blog .. you remind me of the things I learned in the past which I could benefit from doing again. And your spirit comes through and inspires me in my own healing.

I wish you much love and good health :-)

A stainless steel thermos, I must look into that.

Because I always take water with me... I will not say how though. You would have to spank me. -giggles- But you can guess...

Dear Hedgewitch,
Thank you for your well wishes. I am using them! I do feel better than I did in February. It might take a few months of herbs and enzimes for me to get back my vitality! At least I am on the way.
It is so easy to let the water intake slip. Glad you are making sure you get enough.
I really am enjoying sipping the hot water. It is comforting.
I too speak healing affrimations...
I say out loud to the birds, "I am healthy, I am wealthy, I am wise."
Years ago I learned to be careful with the "I am".
Thank you for your kind words and your support. This adventure is so much more fun with people like you to share with.
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Mari-Nanci,
A stainless steel thermos is nice. It keeps the water hot or cold and does not leach any poisons into the water. I have a travel mug and a large thermos in stainless steel. My husband also carries a stainless steel water jug as he travels about the city.
I have a filter system on my water tap plus I do boil my water for five minutes now. Makes a huge difference in how the water tastes. Not as fresh as a clean mountain stream but I think as clean as I can get.
Hope you get stainless steel for your water!
Namaste,
Sherry

Hi Sherry.......I have started the hot water sipping. I have a feeling this is going to be good for me and I am not sure why at the moment. I find the water being hot is quite comforting.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I went to the osteopathe yesterday and had my neck and back treated. It will feel good again in a few day I am sure.
I hope that your massage is pleasureable and giving you some relief.
I am loving this connection between you and those of us out there who prefer the holistic approach to healing.

Dear Cheryl,
I too am enjoying the warm water through out the day. In Ayurveda it is suggested we do not drink iced drinks,(hard on our digestion). The warm water is soothing I think. I still drink lots of filtered tap water too. I drink lots of water!
I think there are lots of us out in the world not in community of other holistic people.
Here we are able to support each other. I expect as "Baby Boomers" age they will be looking at the holistic approach.
Glad to know your osteopathe has the healing touch. I go today for massage. I am going once a week until I am back in alignment. It is helping!
I have more vitality.
I also am walking more!

Dear Anna,
Lemon water is very tasty! I recently read that the body needs citrus (lemon being the best) to absorb the anti-oxidants in green tea. We do want lemon but no sugar in our tea! I also read that in restaurants they seldom wash their lemons! I like my organic lemons the best. I scrub them up with lavender water.
You have had so much stress! I also have been under lots of stress. I am one of these people that does great during the crisis and deals withthe stress later. I am in later! LOL
I think laughter is the best!
I love to laugh...

You are a woman after my own heart!
Lemons in a restaurant..well I NEVER allow the lemon to float in my water..because of what you said so I squeeze and toss..having said that..are their knives clean..EEEK!
I tried the barley water yesterday and LOVE the taste! My pot is boiling as I type for todays dose!
STRESS..yes it follows me..always something ...you are helping me dear friend! hugs aNNa
P.S. what does Namaste mean?

Dear Anna,
I am so happy you are drinking your barley water. In "Ageless Woman" there are recipes for "wise water". This is water specific to ailments. I have not done any yet. I am still reading and taking notes. I find the Ayurveda way so beautiful. I also enjoy the barley water. Sip it warm too. Will be better for digestion for you. Squeeze and toss is the way...I never trust the flatwear but at some point we do have to eat! My husband and I lay our flatwear on a napkin never on the table and I use a straw...no ice.
Eating at home is esier but I do get tired of cooking.
Stress.. part of life. We just need to learn how to stay relaxed and in joy while the stress is going on. Yoga breathing is very good as is yoga class.
My Doctor has me doing all sorts of wellness things. One is "Allowing the garden to heal you." Perhaps you can allow your roses to bring you calmness. I did a post on rose crafting on Corner.
A rose on my desk or nightstand is comforting, or a nosegay of any sort...I cut a rose for my hat yesterday. Each time I go into my bathroom I spritz my face with my rose water very moisterizing and refreshing...my rose water is restoring my face! It is made from roses I grow so I know they are organic.
Namaste means "I see the light in you." Normally we say this while bowing...an honoring the light and love in our friend.
Namaste, dear friend,
Sherry
